Nihon Goshin Classical Techniques
There are 50 Classical Techniques in the Nihon Goshin style of Aikido. In order to achieve the next level of rank you must be able to perform all 10 techniques in your current rank. A self defense line, where you defend against repeated attack, is also part of the testing. You must be able to use some of the classical techniques you learned on the line. The line can consist of up to 150 consecutive attacks at brown and black belt levels!
(Please note that although they learn many of these techniques, the Kid's techniques are different from this list and they also do not require a self defense line until they "graduate" to the Jr. Adult level.)
